Genome centre has performed quality evaluation of method that is used for DNA isolation from tumour tissue. This method has received highest possible evaluation in quality assessment scheme (Biospecimen Proficiency Testing) 2019/2020 year cycle, the protocol is used for processing of research specific samples for Genome Database of Latvian population. This testifies the potential for further development of tumour tissue processing for research at national biobank.

Several sample collections from Genome Database of Latvian Population are included in BBMRI-ERIC biobank catalogue Directory as independent collections.

Directory is biobank catalogue created by BBMRI-ERIC to increase collaboration between biobanks and researchers, to promote use of biological samples for scientific research.

Genome Database was included in the Directory in 2017, but this year we entered more detailed information about several strategic collections, to highlight specific resources and increase international collaboration.

Catalogue Directory available here.
